Stripping down Win 10 for use with Sonar (X1) - Advice please
Hello,
I'm in the process of transferring from Win XP to Win 10, and want to run the OS as minimally as possible so that it doesn't get in the way of Sonar.
I've done a clean install, and intend to complete the process by dual booting with Linux Mint. The Windows partition will have the OS, Sonar X1 and associated packages / softsynths / etc. and nothing else (not even anti-virus), while the Linux partition will be used for all other activities and contact with the outside world.
I'd like some advice about how to turn off all the unnecessary stuff that comes with Win 10, so that it doesn't, for example, decide to interrupt me with things it thinks I want / need from the web while I'm busy recording. I'm happy to do my research online, but any pointers would be gratefully received!
Thanks,
Piers.
