Xtant Audio releases Model Brass - All Purpose Brass Library for Kontakt 13th January 2016
Xtant Audio has released their latest Kontakt 5 based sample library,
Model Brass, with a first week only introductory discount of 15%. The library contains 15 solo brass instruments and nearly 10000 24-bit samples.
Model Brass employs advanced Kontakt scripting resulting in playable instruments that use a comparatively low amount of system resources. The instruments include a range of mutes, which make the library ideal for use in jazz contexts, as well as some less available instruments such as euphonium, cornet, and contrabass tuba which open up the instrument to marching band and brass band music.
Every instrument in the library has been chromatically sampled in a controlled studio environment, resulting in dry samples that are ideal for the kind of physical modelling techniques that Xtant Audio has employed to create the dynamic algorithmic legato system used by the library. The result is a smooth and easy to use legato that responds to how you play and doesn't require you to pace your playing as is often the case with true legato interval crossfades.
The legato system also includes a re-trigger function to allow you to play trills of any duration, tempo, and interval. Using just a MIDI keyboard and a few continuous controllers it is possible to perform a wide range of brass techniques quickly, easily, and realistically.
All of the detailed scripting has been produced by David Healey, known for his popular Kontakt scripting tutorial video series and many sample library scripting projects for developers such as Strezov Sampling, Aria Sounds, Sampleism, Wavesfactory, and Bela D.
