long time use with update question...
Probably has been discussed before, but I cannot find this.............. So since CWPA 6 I have registered and paid for every upgrade except one (that was SonarX2 I think) Suffice to say I am a sonar person\long time user. In my situation I do not see anything that appeals to me in 2016 mentioned updates\new whatever. Except fixes. But fixes is an unknown. So I basically have to pay for fixes that have not happen yet and may never happen in 2016? I have no interest in the mentioned additions at all. ***Very important question for me:If I do not pay this fee am I cut off from support, re-downloading the zillion things in my account-massive amount of things I have paid for beyond just Sonar. Not trying to stir up trouble or anything but for me it seems I am almost "forced" to pay because maybe there will be audio\midi enhancements-I mean core stuff, but maybe there won't be. Just trying to understand where I stand with regards to my MAIN question with the asterisk. Thank You Frank

You will continue to own and use Sonar as always, you just won't be able to get any more rolling updates/features beyond what you already have. Nothing else will change afaik. Fwiw, I didn't think I'd use much more when I decided to upgrade last year just to see. Sure glad I did now, and I'll be upgrading again, but if you're happy with what you have then you don't "need" to upgrade to continue using Sonar.

Frank... when you see something you can't resist, upgrade... until then enjoy what you got... nuttin gonna change... nothing taken away, nothing new... NOTHING... store still works... That is the way it is... most if not all of us think it's an amazing new system... for folks like you who don't see any reason to upgrade at the moment it is also a fantastic system... for example, if in July you say "oh, man... I wish I had all those new things" or even some of them, upgrade then... and you'll be brought up to date and receive monthly goodies for a full 12 months from July. There are no selective "fixes" to those choosing not to update... that's the way it is.

The new marketing nuggets are very shiny, but I also tend to pay more attention to the core program enhancements, and in this last year of updates there has been more than enough of them for me to do the renewal. If you don't renew right away, stay tuned to these forums, and see if something grabs your attention. Cakewalk will still take your money many months from now, and you can continue where you left off . . . except if you wait past Mar 31, you just won't get the current renewal deal. For me, Sonar Platinum, drives and feels like a brand new car, compared to how it was a year ago. So those unknown, hidden fixes, have added a lot of value alone . . . the other nuggets are just more icing.
Cakewalk by Bandlab, Cubase, RME Babyface Pro, Intel i7 3770K @3.5Ghz, Asus P8Z77-VPro/Thunderbolt, 32GB DDR3 RAM, GeForce GTX 660 Ti, 250 GB OS SSD, 2TB HDD samples, Win 10 Pro 64 bit, backed up by Macrium Reflect, Novation Impulse 61 Midi Key Controller, Tannoy Active Near Field Monitors, Guitars by Vantage, Gibson, Yamaki and Ovation.

Thanks very much folks.....I like the idea of wait and see, for me anyway..because I am pretty happy as things are right now. I sure do not need anything new plug in wise and have no need for TH3. Although I do own the the full version of TH2. I have a better understanding now.....The replies were\are well stated-Thanks again Frank

Well, wait and see turned out to be 3 days. Just paid today...Since Jan 17th was my purchase day last year I figured keep it simple. I mean I have upgraded for over 20 years (as stated above since CWPA 6) , so.............. :-) OK I'm ready. Thanks again for the help

We will continue working on core enhancements and fixes. Hope that reassures you. That will be in addition to the new features we'll be adding. Hopefully, you find them welcome additions once you start using them.
