Loop Loft MIDI in EZDrummer 2?

I was thinking about getting the MIDI bundle at Loop Loft to use in Ezdrummer 2.  However, I saw on another thread where a user says when they are loaded into EZdrummer 2 they are 100 bars long (where only the first bar or two has MIDI data).

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

For the first 3 volumes yes.  After that loops are generally the right size.

Thanks for the reply.  I got a 30% code to combine with the 90% off for the MIDI bundle and decided to go for it.

That thread might have been mine, I certainly had that problem.

    You're probably right.

I want to confirm that msorrels was exactly correct.  Of the 21 packs, 3 of them have this problem.

An additional note, the MIDI loops don't seem to communicate the correct MIDI tempo in the EZdrummer browser.  So, in a folder marked 75 BPM and the button pressed to use the original tempo, the loop does not play back at 75 BPM.

The jury's still out for me on whether it was a good purchase.

If you drag and drop a MIDI file into an open Sonar project it can't/won't change the tempo.  But if you instead open the MIDI file as a project, Sonar can set up the project with the MIDI file's tempo, if it has one.  This is true of all MIDI loops, not just Loop Loft's.  That said most/all of the Loop Loft MIDI files don't appear to have tempo settings in them so it may be a moot point.  Not sure if them having a MIDI tempo event in the file would work for EZDrummer's use original tempo setting.  As a rule with all the Loop Loft products you may have to manually set the tempo as needed.

The Loop Loft MIDI files also are all mapped to a GM-style mapping, which can be a pain.  I have EZPlayer Pro which has features to help remap files but to be honest I think it's UI is awful and the results somewhat less than satisfying in that area.

One thing Loop Loft doesn't tell you is that they update the bundles, so in the future when new MIDI volumes are added you can go back and open your downloads and download the new volumes.  Which kind of makes the bundles a bit better deal.  Though they don't tell people about this, so perhaps it's just a web site bug and one day they will fix it.

As for the MIDI loops being useful, I have had mixed luck with them.  They really need a lot more tagging for searches and a search engine.  EZDrummer and Addictive Drums 2's MIDI loops have been a bit easier to use.
