site search not working?
At some point in the last couple years this forum has cut over from an older format where we had a lot of finer grained discussion boards to a single unified discussion. I tend to prefer that because then you don't have to post in some specific forum no one reads. But I always try to look for answers before asking a question and site search here doesn't seem to come up with much. It returns a few results but I get a lot more from going to bing.com or google.com and searching: site:forum.cakewalk.com [query terms] I clicked "full version" and that either seems to return nothing or the same. Tricks? CAF

How you describe is the best method for me as well. The forum's search feature is not useful.

It is an issue with the 3rd-party forum software, not by Cakewalk's design. The search terms in the format from the OP of this thread are the best for searching for threads/posts for specific issues. Bob Bone

What specifically isn't working? This often comes up with anecdotes about Cakewalk, the suggestion to not use the forum search, but no specifics are given as whether or not there really is an issue here. I find it odd. A few months back we did correct an issue with our search index that was limiting recent results in sub-forums, however this has been resolved. The mobile theme, by design, seems to limit the page results intentionally so you're not waiting for days on a slow connection. If I search "Site Search", I get quite a lot of results including this thread, but only 3 pages displayed by default. Towards the bottom there are additional filters and page buttons. I agree the forum software's mobile theme isn't really the most elegant thing to use, but I guess I'm just wondering why everyone's default response is that it's broken. Am I the only one that finds it odd?

I've searched a couple of times the last couple of days, and it works fine if you change the filter to '365 days' or even 'from the beginning'. Of course, then you do find a lot of posts by single-celled organisms...

Using the search box upper right on the home page of the SONAR forum, type "pitch". You'll get 5-6 results. Then select "full search" and there's no evident change. I would expect a much larger number of results for a common music word like "pitch." I don't see how to change to date range filter. I haven't found an "advanced search" option.

Here's a search for the common word "tuning":

I got the same empty result at first for this search. But at the bottom of the page, change the time filter to From the beginning. I wonder whether this setting will stick between sessions? Cheers, Peter.

Nope. Quitting the browser resets the search to last 30 days.

p.s. There are actually two search boxes if viewing the list of forum topics. The one at the top of the page just under your account details seems to have different default options (like from the beginning).

There's the very top search box which I assume is the Cakewalk site search, not the forums. I never tried the Filter. I assumed that was for filtering the results (if you got any). That is certainly not very intuitive. Huh. CAF
