Needed to do a clean sonar install.

Need some advice, recently I updated to win10 and everything was working just fine, over the weekend I was working outside of Sonar and noticed a red x through the speaker icon on my task bar. I right clicked it and the message indicated that the drivers were not enabled.....so I enabled them and it told me I needed to restart so I did, that's when my problems started......
The computer would boot extremely slow to a "black screen with a cursor" reading up on this it seems to be a common issue with Win10. I rebooted and rebooted and rebooted to the same issue. I was able to get to the troubleshot screen and I rolled back to a previous system image. It loaded fine and boots as it is supposed to. My desktop had a lot of things missing so I searched and searched and came up empty. So I went to the cakewalk command center and (re)installed Platinum and all of its goodies. I figured all would be good because I always backup my Cakewalk projects file. It turns out I have to reinstall a lot of my vst software such as EZdrummer, ozone 6 and a bunch of others and reauthorize. I loaded up a project and I still need to reinstall a few more vst' but man is this annoying. Will it remember my original settings such as effects and synth settings?

I have been on the fence about updating to 10 because I feared my experience would be similar. Lots of people say "works great, no problem "but I suspect that is their end result and we're missing a lot of the back story. ( relicensing collecting dozens of driver updates, etc.) . I don't have any advice, but I'm DEFINITELY going to be watching this thread.
