See wav while recording?
I'm not seeing the waveform during recording and I know there's an option that lets you toggle it - but I can only find it for Bus or Synth Tracks. Can anyone tell me where it is for normal tracks? Thanks - rev

This won't help you at all Rev, but in Splat it's in Preferences > Customization > Display > Display Waveform Preview While Recording. I can't begin to remember where, if indeed it was a feature of 8.5.2 (8.5.2 is an odd version - the last update was 8.5.3 which some people still hold in some strange reverence) This is a similar issue to the one you PM'd me about.

>This won't help you at all Rev Thanks Jonesey, you were right, it doesn't help at all :) >This is a similar issue to the one you PM'd me about. No it's not at all. I got that worked out and posted the solution, this is about the clip not showing the wav as I record. Sound is being recorded and the waveform appears once you press Stop so I can live with it. Just thought I'd ask. I've seen this feature toggle itself somehow and come back after a reboot. I've also seen it on one track and not the next, solved by deleting and inserting the track that's misbehaving. I actually have 8.5.3 but .3 patch doesn't add anything significant. I am one of those who hold 8.5.3 in strange reverence, mostly because I don't need anymore features or a new learning curve. rev

I'm pretty sure I do remember this as part of the 8 series but I haven't used any of them for a while. Sounds like something screwy is going on the way you describe it, maybe a reinstall might be in order? What about the Help File?

Scott Garrigus to the rescue! There is a dedicated button on the Track Header next to the M & S buttons.

Not on my revered version there isn't. I have Archive, Mute, Solo, Record, Echo, Freeze Track, Auto Read, Auto Write and Layers Off.

Its called "confidence recording waveform preview". You should find it under that in the help file.

I'm with you dude24man! The MIDI clock isn't quite stable and there are some unsolved issues that will remain unsolved but it is the last of it's kind! I've got used to its personality. John: > Options > Global > General, click 'Display Waveform While Recording.'
