can't figure out why I can't hear my input in record mode

Hi. I'm trying to record some rhythm guitar using the TH2 plugin FX. In monitor mode I hear it fine. As soon as I hit record on the track, the signal stops. What am I missing?

I'm using the latest updated version of Sonar Platinum-Lexington, and have a Addictive drums 2 part playing on a separate track.

Sure I'm missing something simple somewhere, but can't figure t out.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

These are things that screw me up sometimes:

Outputs selected properly -- going to Master or directly to your monitor channel and not some other un-routed output?

Pan set properly?

Input echo turned on?

Does it work if you disable TH2?

Does it work if you put TH2 in the Master FX bin instead of the one on the track itself?

Is it recording but you just can't hear it or not recording at all?

Just some thoughts.

My money is on input echo not being turned on.

I envy the very quiet recording environment you will have when the snow has fallen.  Enjoy the quiet time and stay warm.  It's so darn loud over here in Hawaii with waves crashing, birds singing and everyone out playing in the sunshine !

So far is far from quiet, the winds are picking up considerably so the storm can maintain "blizzard" status.

You're breaking my heart!

The reason people say the vinyl sounds better is because the music was better.

Yeah, aint it wonderful?   Somewhere around two feet of snow, drifts a good three feet, and the wind...  loud and mostly non-stop literally all day.
