Resolved - sort of... NeoPiano - Piano 1

Hi - I just downloaded Piano 1 from here:

http://www.supremepiano.com/product/piano1.html

Looked interesting, thought I'd have a play with a more grown up piano vst.  Can't get the damn thing to work though...

Has anyone played with it and had issues?  All other VST instruments work for me.  With this one, I can create a new track folder with the midi and instruments within it.  If I play the piano through the keyboard UI, it sounds fine - great even.  If I hit my midi controller keys, I get a signal.  But I can't get the controller to trigger the instrument....

All other instruments work seamlessly.  I have the input of the midi track listed as my midi controller, the output is the piano instrument.  And for the instrument, the input is the piano, the output is master bus.

Can anyone think what could be wrong?

Cheers.

Mark.

Just going over the obvious, but make sure you downloaded the correct version for you (32 or 64 bit).

After installing, wouldn't hurt to do a VST reset/rescan.

Might be a "Channel" problem? Select OMNI and see if that works... then you can hunt down the correct channel it's actually using.

Thanks - I've selected pretty much everything!  The frustrating thing is that the instrument sounds really good!  So I'm getting audio, my midi keyboard is registering a signal, but somehow they're not matching up...

It's working for me in Platinum "Lexington".  Did you remember to enable Input Echo on the track?  I frequently miss this step and wonder why the VSTi isn't sending out audio.

Cheers - yeah, input echo is on.  It's odd.

OK, so I found another DLL - looks older than the one I was trying to use:

    http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?id=1100

It's 32bit as opposed to 64bit, but it's working fine, and the sound is great!  Still not sure why the other one didn't link to my midi controller though... this one worked straight away.
