Does anyone know how to make TTS-1 or Groovesynth use a .ins definition

Both TTS-1 and Groovesynth seem to have inbuilt .ins definitions that are incomplete and make things like drum NRPNs a chore.
 
Any one know a tweak to make them use a specific .ins file?
