P L E A S E F I X ! Auto-Tune EFX 3 has problems in SONAR!
Hi... So, for at least a year since I purchased Auto-Tune EFX 3, I have been experiencing audio-related problems with the plug-in. I would get tons of clicks and pops on my vocal tracks when using EFX 3. It's a lot worse when I use the VST3 version compared to the VST2 version of the plug-in but version 2 is still unbearable. On Antares' website they stated that not much went into testing EFX's perforformance in SONAR and it's disappointing because all the other major DAWs are fully supported and seeing things like that makes me feel mediocre for choosing SONAR. Auto-Tune 8 is fully supported (but it costs $229.00 to ugrade) so what's the issue with EFX?! Auto-Tune is a must for making simple and quick pitch-corrections and is a huge time-saver when mixing a lot of background vocals; I really hope this gets sorted as Cakewalk goes forward with all the optimizations and reworkings that they have been focusing on lately. If you guys know of anything that can solve this problem, let me know. I know I can't be the only one having this problem.

Hi. What kind of audio interface do you have, and what latency settings are you using? Maybe try to up the latency while working with A-T. I know Celemony advices to use 1024 or higher when working with Melodyne (even if I seldom have to). It is always helpful to others to include your specs when asking for help. Cpu ,RAM, Audio Interface etc. All the best.

I have it but have given up on the VST3 version. But, Sonar doesn't have to be compatible with that program. The program has to be compatible with Sonar.

That's why I no longer buy Antares products. As a matter of fact, Auto Tune is not much mentioned on this forum. I think the relationship with Celemony has won out.
Antares don't test with Sonar. Celemony on the other hand do lots of testing and development work with Cakewalk.

Nectar elements has a simple auto tune feature too and I think it's free if you have AD1 or AD2 on your account there.

Has Izotope bought XLN-audio??? Or are you talking about some other AD than Addictive Drums? The OP doesn't mention what version of SONAR he's using, but having joined the forum in late 2014 implies he theoretically could have Melodyne (??) And as mentioned, it's for the VST vendor to take care of compatibility. A DAW is such a big ship that it's harder to turn than a VST-boat.
SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre - Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc. The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

I have no idea why they give it away for free, I saw it on my account site on the bottom of the products page and got a key code to get it for free. they also have a key code for an Peavey Amp sim.

As a rule pops and clicks usually mean your audio interface's latency is too low. This can often be a problem with vocal pitch correction plugins since they tend to do a lot more computation. The Nectar and Peavey Amp were promotions Addictive Drums did at various times over the past few years. I'm pretty sure both required buying something at the right time from them.

XLN Audio, actually, gave us, owners of AD, some third party plugins: Nectar Elements, Peavey Revalver 3 & 4. IIRC, it was at the release of Sonar X2...

Thank you for all the posts, guys! Thought I was alone for a while, there... PC Specs: Intel Core i7-3770 ASUS Z77 Sabertooth Corsair Dominator Platinum (16GB DDR3 1600 MHz) Other: Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 (ASIO buffer size = 10.0) SONAR Platinum (Latest update) @Zargg71 @msorrels Good idea. Never thought about that before... I'll try uping my buffer settings when mixing with the plug-in. @Fireberd True. True. @Mudgel I know Melodyne is the better software but it's a bit slower for my workflow when I'm just looking for the Auto-Tune effect especially for hip-hop, pop etc. vocals. @PassiveDrift I really wish I had seen that offer at the time... I'll still check! @AtsukoLovely picture! Off to run tests!
