I have just loaded the Manchester update and Sonar Platinum does exactly as BobV says above by asking me to "Please login to Command Center to check activation status". How do you do this anyway, I cannot find anything in the Command Center to actually check the activation status? I hope someone can answer this Thanks Tony

I believe it is handled automatically when the Command Center is logged in. There is no reason to log out of the Command Center. I leave it logged in because logging out looses my hidden package settings. There is no need to launch the Command Center to run SONAR though.

Is this something new going forward? Didn't happen in previous updates or version. As long as I stay logged in to the command center no messages appear.

Make sure you are running the current version of the Command Center. The current version is 1.1.4.3. To see which version is running, CTRL+click the gear in the upper right of the Command Center UI. The latest version is available here http://www.cakewalk.com/Command-Center

That particular annoyance can be addressed by selecting "run this program as an administrator" in properties. I get the same dialog on Sonar proper, and here the "run this pro as admin" does not suppress the pop-up.

I updated and still have this popup.
It actually runs the command centre admin permission twice...
why would command centre open anyway if I wanted to use Splat??

I only run CCC when there's something new to download and would prefer to keep doing that. If something has changed, like having to have CCC running continuously with administrator privileges or get annoying messages, I'd like to hear some official statement as to why it's necessary. I'm still on Kingston and will remain there for the time being. It seems to be the best the bunch so far.

I saw that banner pop up after installing Manchester, and I usually have my internet connection off.. but turned it on, logged into command center and it was activated after logging in that one time. Might wanna try activating off-line (under Help menu when you open a project) ; ) CM

Hi Everyone, One of the changes in Manchester is that it keeps your About box current with your latest end date. This was causing a lot of confusion for folks who renewed but were not seeing the latest date in Help > About dialog. In order to do this SONAR makes a call to Command Center asking if anything has changed. If you keep Command Center logged out then you will see this toast popup. If you know you have plenty of time left/don't care you can ignore it. When you get really close to your end date or go into demo mode you'll get a much more scary toast warning you. Thanks,

I just realized that I've updated to Manchester U1 since you last posted and haven't experienced a single one of these message loading or exiting Sonar. And I never have CCC running, but I am online. Just to make sure, I just turned my wifi off and still no messages (thank the Gods). Odd that Willy says it's inevitable. I hope it isn't.
