Should I Re Install Platinum?

For some time, I've had issues with my plugins. When I first go to load a plugin, I get a "vst cannot be found" pop up (shown below), and I have to click through all of the loaded vsts to get it to clear. I've rescanned, reset, all to no avail. When I first installed X3, I tried to set up my own vst folder, and somehow have redundant folders, which may be causing the problems.

I'm thinking maybe I should just reinstall, and let sonar create its own vst folder, into which I can install my extra vsts.
Also Platinum seemed to have installed into X3's folder. Basically, I've got stuff scattered all over the place.

I need your suggestions.

(can't seem to upload screenshots)?

Multiple VST folders isn't a problem (and is quite common, if you need to manage VST2 32 bit, VST2 64bit, VST3, etc). And some VSTs seem to want to install in their own preferred place. You just have to make sure that all those folders are included in the search path in Sonar.

"Also Platinum seemed to have installed into X3's folder" - how so? It's common for there to be a SONAR Platinum folder and a SONAR X3 Producer (or whatever) folder both within Program Files\Cakewalk. But if you're saying that you've somehow ended with just 1 folder for both, i.e. with SONARPLT.exe and SONARPDR.exe (for example) in the same folder, then yeah, that probably got installed wrongly and needs a clean start.

You've not made it clear whether you can't use plugins at all, or whether you're just getting annoying pop-ups that you need to get rid of, or whether it's just certain plugins that are a problem. Give us some more information and there's probably more help we can offer.

Thanks for the reply. To clarify, all of my plugins do work, I just have to click through each of the plugin warnings before it will load the one I want to use, really just an annoyance. I wanted to post a screenshot of my file paths, but had no luck. I'll try and get my file paths posted, so that my questions may be a bit more clear.

Is it a warning for each plugin saying that it can't be found, but then it finds it anyway?

What doesn't make sense for me, is that if it really couldn't find the plugin, then it wouldn't work at all. So something is really strange here.

I don't have my laptop available at present, but tonight I'll try to post a screenshot of the missing vst dialog box.
