With all the replies I've been thinking of this more and more. I am reminded of a story someone told me once. It is called "good luck, bad luck." I'm sure you've all heard it before.
A farmers plow horse ran away at the beginning of planting season
All his neighbors said, "ooh, bad luck."
The next day his horse, as hoses are wont to do, returns with two other "wild horses."
All his neighbors said. "ooh, good luck."
As the horses were wild, the man's son resolved to break them. The first horse the son mounted threw him and the son broke his leg. The son would not be able to help with the planting.
All of the man's neighbors said, "ooh, bad luck."
The next day, war broke out, the local militia came to conscript all the able bodied boys. Since the boy's leg was broken, the militia could not conscript him.
All the man's neighbors said, "ooh, good luck."
Choices have consequences, but life goes on around you, whether you choose it too or not.
So, I am still of the opinion that it doesn't matter.
