Sonar installer doesn't remember where to store VST plug-ins

Sonar installer doesn't remember where to store VST plug-in.
I classify this as a bug rather than a feature request because it conflicts with documentation and doesn't conform to end user's expectations in 2016.

Various bugs in regards to where Sonar places VST plug-ins area:
  • Sonar installer doesn't use Command Center settings for VST plugin locations
Don't know if these issues have since been addressed in the regular installation - I stopped using it after having these issues with the initial SPlat releases.
  • in Advanced installation
    • Sonar installer doesn't use Command Center settings for VST plugin locations.
      See images below.
    • There is no option to store 32 & 64 bit VSTs in different locations.
      See images below.
    • Sonar doesn't even remember what setting you used on the previous Sonar Advanced mode installation.
      See images below.
My Command Center Settings panel.
Note the locations of VST Plugins.

Latest Sonar Platinum installer running in Advanced mode.
Note that the VST Folder is wrong. This is the programmer's hard coded setting - It is not taken from the Command Center settings nor it is not the default VST folder setting taken from the registry.

If I rerun the installer again it again will default to C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VstPlugins.
Every update I have to change this setting.
Also there is no option** to store 32 vs 64 VST in different locations!
**I don't remember if the installer only installs plug-ins that match the bit depth of the host. I.E. if you install the 64 bit version of Sonar that it only installed the 64bit plug-ins. If so then this may not be an issue.

Best regards,
...Steven

The option to set VST3 plug-in paths was removed some time ago.

TBH - since Cakewalk uses the standard paths for VST3 plug-ins
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\VST3
    I don't have a problem with that.

I have edited the original post to remove that as being listed as an issue.

I will add that while I use the defaults for plug-ins, I noticed the download path occasionally gets reset. To prevent surprises, I created a directory junction to redirect the content and now let the program use the default path.
