Strange Problem -- Sudden Noise and Distortion
I've been working on a project since before the latest Sonar update (I am up-to-date on my software). Occasionally, random noise will enter the project (sounds like computer-generated noises). Further, my bass track will get noticeably distorted/fuzzy. It goes away if I close out and re-open Sonar. I have saved a project before this noise comes on, make no changes, then the noise starts. Again, if I close and then re-open Sonar, the problem goes away. So, it's not a result of any effects, etc. that I added which is directly and immediately causing the issue. Any clues? Thanks in advance, p

Hi. Wondering if this could be driver related. What kind of audio interface do you have, and do you have the latest ASIO drivers for it? Best of luck.

Roland Octa-Capture. Yes, I have the latest drivers. This is an issue that first popped up several days ago. No changes to audio drivers since then. Only change has been latest Sonar update.

You do not happen to have it plugged into an USB3 socket? Do you have the latest firmware? Did you do a clean install, or an upgrade to Win 10? All the best.

Interface is plugged into a USB 2 port. Yes re latest firmware. Yes re clean install. I find it weird the noise isn't always present. Will just come on randomly (and not frequently) when working on the project.

Lexington introduced long gone pops and crackles/performance issues on my system. I just installed Manchester yesterday so am still testing it. Seems to be better but I haven't done much yet. I did have a dropout (but I was doing something stupid) and some crackling (but that might have been me overdriving a track) so I can't say if my own issues are persisting. Turn up your interface buffers and/or disk read/write buffers if possible and try freezing some tracks/synths and/or archiving uneeded tracks in the project. Cheers.

Are you using any cpu heavy fx on the project? What latency are you using on your OC? Maybe to low? Others may know better. All the best.
