Mixbus 3.1 Official Release

Mixbus 3.1-66 "Official Release"
Mixbus customers should receive an email to update to version 3.1 today.

v3.1 incorporates hundreds of features and fixes, and was intensively tested. Many of the changes were provided in "interim" release packages which allowed our customers to follow our progress and make comments. But 3.1 also incorporates some new improvements of its own.

One of the important new additions in Mixbus v3.1 is support for three types of external hardware control surfaces.
• Generic MIDI devices can use “MIDI Learn” to assign MIDI controls directly to on-screen knobs or use MIDI profiles to select many pre-configured device layouts from a pull-down menu, with more to come.
• Mackie control protocol is provided for motorized fader controllers, and the Mackie protocols have been extended to ergonomically control the Mixbus channelstrip EQ, compressor, and 8 mixbus sends. Dedicated
support is provided for popular devices like the Presonus Faderport, Mackie MCU, and Behringer X-Touch controllers.
• OSC (Open Source Control) protocol supports ethernet-based wireless tablet controllers such as TouchOSC and Lemur for iOS and Android to remote-control Mixbus.

Mixbus v3.1 now allows more user control over the interface look&feel, with the ability to scale the channelstrips to match your monitor size, from the smallest laptop screen to the largest desktop monitors. Many new visual options
have also been added, allowing the user to adjust the Mixbus screen to their own preference.

A new “Favorite Plugins” sidebar feature provides a list of your favorite plugin settings in a convenient list that can be dragged into your tracks. You can also choose multiple tracks and apply a plugin to the entire selection. Plugins can
be added pre-fader or post-fader on every track. When you find your favorite settings for a plugin, just drag the plugin into the favorites list with all the presets maintained. Plugin management has never been easier!

Mixbus v3.1 contains an expanded monitor section that allows you to add plugins for room correction and/or metering in the listening path (i.e. room eq/correction), without affecting the master bus output. The monitor section can also be
shown or hidden directly from the master bus.

Just downloaded and installed 3.1.  Not going to replace Sonar Platinum, but Mixbus is my mastering stage.

I wonder if this is a Full installer because the original v3 messed my system up so bad I completely removed it...
The DL is only 40.4MB which seems small for a Full installer.

Every installer (3.0, and interims) were always a full installer.

Did you run the installer(s) as Admin? I  always do.

Still have not fixed EZKeys crash.

Yeah, EZKeys still crashes. Bummer.
I've been trying to get Melodyne to work. It seems to transfer okay, but then nothing. I may not remember how to do it properly. ARA has me spoiled.

Anyone using a Mackie MCU & Extender with v3.1?  I can get mine to connect and talk but I can't arrange the channels to be 1-8 on the extender and 9-16 on the MCU even though I selected the ext+mcu.device file. Hoping someone here is using this combination.

I have researched the Mixbus and Ardour forums with little luck...

Hey all I have got the latest Mixbus and very happy with how it seems to be running.

If any of you are running Studio One as well (and of course you are all on 3.2 by now aren't you!! if not you are too slow!!Get to it) I am keen to know how well the Console Shaper stacks up against Harrison Mixbus sound in general. Not sure yet if they are something different or similar.  Apparently the shaper is modelled on the SSL4000 series consoles so that might be good too.

More console emulations to come!

Make sure you watch the Studio One Expert video on the 3.2 update as well. It is very good and quite informative.

Specs i5-2500K 3.5 Ghz - 8 Gb RAM - Win 7 64 bit - ATI Radeon HD6900 Series - RME PCI HDSP9632 - Steinberg Midex 8 Midi interface - Faderport 8- Studio One V4 - iMac 2.5Ghz Core i5 - Sierra 10.12.6 - Focusrite Clarett thunderbolt interface

I like Studio One 3.2 very much. Mixbus is not working for me as well as it should. Neither can replace Sonar.

They aren't meant to be in that configuration. It should be the other way around. You can force them to be that way but is it worth it?
