Meldaproduction 9.17, er, 9.18
Mostly bugfixes, but one new free plugin: MOscilloscope. Change Log [UPDATE]There were a couple problems with the 9.17 build, so it's been quickly followed by a fix release. 9.18 should be announced later today. 9.18 also includes two new plugins that weren't quite ready for 9.17: MWaveFolder (distortion plugin) comes in broadband and multiband versions. The wideband version is part of the free bundle, the multiband version is $32.

I have licensed the Free bundle. Good stuff. Nice to get a new plug this time. Just make sure that you tick it in the installer. It doesn't automatically get added to your list of existing licenses (ticked on the installer).

A little download tip: I have the upgraded Free Bundle and a few other Melda plugins. Whenever I do an update, it gives me a screen that automatically highlights the plugs that I have. The first time I tried to install update 9.17, the new Oscilloscope was nowhere to be found, when I opened my DAW. I ran the installer again and realized that the Oscilloscope was not highlighted. I highlighted it myself, ran the installer again, and it's now there.

O'scope in 9.17 and WaveFolder in 9.18. Two nice adders to the licenseable FreeBundle.

I haven't updated for a while. I wonder if they've fixed the problem in their chorus plug whereby you get loads of crackles and pops when using the waveshaping slider.

This might be due to a bug, but then again, the behavior may not be something that can be fixed. There are a number of adjustable parameters throughout the Melda collection of FX (several in the filter module immediately come to mind) that cause excess CPU consumption while being modified. These you just need to find a setting that you like and then leave them alone (and for heaven's sake, do *not* assign a modulator). It's really obvious when you find one of these - the audio results are immediately obvious.

Updated to 9.17 yesterday, 9.18 today, and just noticed I forgot to install WaveFolder...geez! I have to disable windows defender to update Melda plugins. I need to learn how to fix that.

Really. I haven't encountered a need to do that.

Sometimes W10 gets a little over-protective when attempting to execute downloaded installers. Melda's installer is one I've seen Windows complain about. It's why I always choose the manual install option (DLL in a ZIP file) if it's offered. Tritik, for example, gives you both options. You don't need to disable Defender, AFAIK. When the "Windows has disabled..." message comes up, click on "More Information", which opens a panel with a "Run Anyway" button.
