V 700 and sonar platinum

I'm hoping the compatibility is the same as with x3. Anybody know if it is or isn't? Am i incorrect in assuming that the V 700 section of the forums is gone? I just signed up for the universal thing so they stuck me with a new username. Thanks guys.

They merged the VS forums into one forum called Cakewalk Hardware at the top. The VS forums weren't really busy enough to justify keeping them as their own forums so it made sense to merge them into one. Plus, I expect TASCAM will be putting some Sonar based hardware out in the future. I won't buy it, but I'm sure it will be there. :P

HI Jayson.
I havnt really noticed anything new...  everything seems to be working fine for me here.
What I have noticed though is that this new Platinum seems to use a lot less system resources on my computer as it did with X3.  I only have the the meters in the tool bar to go by---  (hardly using any CPU on a large project with a large amount of waves plugins)  but I have managed to have really low latency now (48 samples) with no pops or clicks.  I do have a fast processor though.

hey, I just downloaded and installed sonar platinum. Unfortunately my console isn't showing up! I fired up a projet I made with x3 and the console isn't lighting up. I went to preferences checked all the MIDI boxes except ARX and with varying arrays of iO MIDI v700 checked and unchecked.
It doesn't show up under control surfaces. What am I missing? Thanks guys.

Re: V 700 and sonar platinum 2016/02/11 21:25:54 (permalink)
to elaborate a little more...here is my problem:

I was working perfectly fine with the VS700R and the console.  Then my computer crashed.

I had to to a full windows 8 reinstall, and now I can't get it to recognize the console.

Maybe I am instaling everything wrong, I don;t know.  I know the 700r is working, I can record through it.  It just isn't seeing the console.

If I look in the shared surfaces folder of sonar, there is a chm file for the vs700, but no dll file, could that be the problem?

Please help!
