If you mean having the note names on the notes in the piano roll it must be possible, I believe Studio One and Cubase have this feature. Sonar seems to be falling behind some of the other DAWs when it comes to MIDI.

You could create a drum map for that I suppose?

Drum maps may be a solution, but the ability to right-click on a key and name it whatever you want would be pretty nice. Regards, Dan

It is possible to add Note Names definitions for the PRV. They are stored in the .Note Names and .Instrument Definition sections in the Master.ins file.

Which is located in "Cakewalk Content \ SONAR Platinum \ Instruments".

Interesting. I did a search of my C drive for it before posting and didn't find it, but did find in on my Content drive. But it is in fact also in my user directory. Even searching C:\Users and C:\Users\Paul turns up nothing, I have to go down to the AppData level. Got to look into that. The one in Cakewalk Content has been modified more recently than the user folder one, fwtw (2011 vs 2010).

There is another in ProgramData. It is the master copy used by SONAR when personalizing your user directory. I do not know the purpose of the copy in Cakewalk Content. Never bothered to ask.

So there is. But it looks to be a copy of the one in Cakewalk Content from 2011. The one in Users is 2010. I'm in the process of fixing my Search after finding that windows excluded certain key places. Search can't even find the ProgramData Master.ins if I start from within the "Sonar Platinum" folder itself (the files is sitting right there !)
