Sonar X3 latency issues

Hi all, I hope anybody can do me a solid by helping me out.
Here's what I'm using:

1/ Sonar X3 (regular version)
2/ Windows 10.
3/ Presonus AudioBox USB interface.
4/ M-Audio Key Rig 49.

I'm experiencing latency issues. Every time I hit a key on my midi controler with the vst drums, for example, I get a slight latency. I try playing my guitar through the Presonus interface, and I still get latency issues. lol

Has anybody had this problem? Can anybody give me any solutions? I'd much appreciate any help...I have some songs I'd like to record.

Thanks everybody.

It is best to bypass all effects while tracking. Certain effects like the LP64 add latency.

Thanks for the reply.
Actually, I'm not using any effects at all.
Would it be because I set the driver to ASIO, or maybe adjust the drivers or something? Strange, but when I didn't completely install my presonus it was working just fine. But when I fully installed the presonus everything now has latency.
 Thanks for any help.

Hi. Maybe try lowering your ASIO buffer to 128 in Preferences (P), Audio, Driver Settings when in SONAR.
All the best.

Yep, it's quite common to lower your buffers when recording and raise them for mixing.

Midi latency has nothing to do with audio latency unless the audio playback of the synth becomes delayed for some reason.
I would try a clean install of the interface drivers and see what happens. You saying you had trouble installing them.
Myself I've only had issues with midi delay because I'm working on a weak system with MME drivers or there was a look ahead effect installed on the master buss.
So I'm thinking you do not have proper drivers installed.
Try a loop back test.

I'm experiencing latency as well, and nothing I do in the Driver Settings seems to get rid of it. It says that the latency is at 10 ms, but even if I change the Buffer Size and the latency becomes 340, it still sounds exactly the same. I'm a complete noob when it comes to this kind of stuff, so maybe I'm doing something really stupid.
