A Serious Question

Do you think there will be a stock market crash in 2016?

A better question:  Do you think we'll have some major event that will allow the government to declare Martial Law?

Oh wait, never mind.  We're not supposed to talk about politics or religion...

So, how about those Foxes from Leicester City?

A more serious question is when will I get my next mix done?

No.

When I was a kid watching news on one of the three TV stations we had reception for, it was rare that the market moved more than five points a day. Usually less than one or two. We are just in an era of wider swings.

Whenever I see folks on CNN getting all excited about a 3-400 point drop, I recall the Simpsons episode where Ralph Wiggum is standing by the mailbox, raising and lowering the flag. Every time he put it up he would cheer, every time he put it down he would cry. Again and again, over and over....

I hear so often that the current cause is the drop in oil prices. Almost like we are supposed to be GLAD if gas goes back up near 4 bucks a gallon. I'll take $1.50 gas any day.

While almost anything can happen at any time and greedy folks seem bound and determined to both shoot themselves in the foot (or head) and risk another meltdown by atavisticaly increasing the wealth inequality gap, economic gloom and doom prophesizers have been preaching the impending distopia for years and years. But here I am typing on a razor thin iPad connected to similarly equipped folks all over the globe while having an ice cold martini...and, at least as of today, not in a mud hut. Just keep your wits, if you have any, about you and keep on rockin.

Hey, it's not like it really matters anyway.  I don't have any money to begin with.  So I do like the advice from yorolpal to keep your wits, and keep on rockin.

"Fiat currency" - hyperinflation and collapse are inevitable.  Exactly when it will happen is anybodies guess, but it WILL happen.

Hi,

No serious answer to bother with!

Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

I guess it depends on your definition of a "crash".

Like the one of the great depression or of 2009? Probably not. But, perhaps some serious "market corrections". Oil prices (and commodities in general) are the wild card right now, IMHO. Which, in a way, is kinda strange.

One would think lower steel prices, copper prices and the lot would be good for manufacturing and would lower costs to consumers. Considering the likes of Shkrelli and his ilk, lower manufacturing costs no longer equal correlate to the retail price. <sigh>

Greedy bastiges...
