More than 16 MIDI channels in Sonar X2

Hi all,

I'm wondering if it's possible to access more than 16 MIDI channels using my current setup:

Sonar X2
Roland Quad Capture audio interface
MOTU micro lite MIDI interface (5 in 5 out)
Currently one controller keyboard

Do I need to connect more controller keyboards to access more than 16 MIDI channels? Logic would suggest I'd need to connect a controller keyboard to each of the MOTU's MIDI ins. Is that the case? Or can I play them all from one single controller keyboard?

I hope this makes sense!

Many thanks :)

Each midi track could use midi channel 1, and in fact that is what usually happens, unless I am working with multiple midi instruments loaded into a single instance of a multi-timbral synth like Kontakt.  Even there, I never load more than 6-7 instruments into a single instance of it, so this just never comes up.

When I am recording or even just playing, it is usually only the midi track that is in focus that will get its midi input echo turned on, and therefore its associated midi synth is the only one that I will hear.

Can you please explain how you have things set up that you are in NEED of additional midi channels?

To echo Bob's question, what is that you want to do? I use 50 - 60 midi tracks in most projects. But we need a bit more info to help you.
