How to make sonar x3 remember sounds

Everytime i save a beat with different sound effects (piano, violin, drums etc.) when i reopen the track after closing the program it just gives me all the same piano sound ??using oxygen 61 midi keyboard straight up plugged in usb ... The sounds all work great just nothing saves right any help?

    It could be you are saving MIDI files (.mid extension) instead of Cakewalk projects (.cwp extension).

    Does the Oxygen have its own soundset? If so, you'll need to import the patch changes into your MASTER.INS and set the patch in each track. Otherwise, it may be what Steve alludes to. When you save the file, do a Save As and make sure you select Sonar Project.

    The only avalible was to save says: save as type Normal, Template, Cakewalk bundle, midi format 0 and 1 and also RIFF MIDI Format 0 and 1 cant find a save for .cwp and you knlw any videos i could see to help me understand more ... Im new at this haha i wanna create beats but so much to figure out and yes it does have its own sounds i just dont know how to save it into the master

    To Save As a .cwp the file type is "Normal"
