Couple reworked freebie pianos

In an effort to improve some instruments, I redid the lightly sampled, but quite fun Upright Skerratt London Piano to have less latency and tried to improve the Steinway Iowa Piano to be a bit less wonky. Yes I am a hopeless tinker. They are available for Kontakt or stand alone Maize VSTs.

Thanks bigcat.  I'm still saving up for my first real keyboard, but when I finally get it I'll have these to play on it.

Thanks guys. You all are very kind. I just wish I could make better instruments especially on orchestral stuff, but it is fun to create things.

If like me you love pianos and haven't already, google up the estate grand le. Its a nice freebie for sforzando. I bet Larry already mentioned it somewhere.

This has been a piano day for me.  Thanks again.  All these pianos have one thing in common, they all sound much better than the real wooden one I have standing a few feet behind me...

Both of these pianos sound very good.  Thank you for posting them.

The reason people say the vinyl sounds better is because the music was better.

My wife's 3/4 size upright that is right behind me sounds the best but these two are much easier to move around!

Thanks guys. I remember as a kid we had an ancient upright that had a couple hammers missing. This may explain why I am a one finger keyboardist.

I have just made Komplete Kontrol presets for these pianos and I think I have worked out how others can install them on computers with a different drive and folder structure.

I have emailed them to Bigcatt and hopefully they will be available for the brave to test soon.
Bigcatt has added them to his blog http://bigcatinstruments.blogspot.co.uk/2016/02/recut-pianos.html#!/2016/02/recut-pianos.html

Treat this as a beta people! and.
On no account rename the new NKI or the pre-set file will not be able to find it.
If Komplete Kontrol cannot see the NKSN file check the folder is in the scan path.

Thanks for doing this Glyn. I'm clueless in this area so it is nice to have someone in the know about it making some cool stuff.

Have you tried it, Fleer? It would be good to get some confirmation that my method works when transfered to a different computer. I don't see why not but it is Native Instruments........

I downloaded the piano's/vst's/KK presets last night, but haven't installed yet. Any specific tips on installation?

Not much over and above the instructions on Bigcatt's blog and don't improvise!

I can't recall if you have to get Kontakt to display in edit view manually to save the NKI once the missing files have been found. If you cant see the full Kontakt interface in Komplete Kontrol go to the view menu and select "Edit View" (or cntl + 3).  To return to default view edit menu "Default View" or cntl +1
