So, you think YOU had a bad day?
[rant] Just starting to recover from a horrible week of the flu. No breakfast-type foods left for breakfast (made do with some leftovers). Right in the middle of some important file manipulation this morning the PC "loses" my main data hard drive (it just disappears!). After several failed attempts, finally able to get the system to shutdown prior to my leaving to work on a side-project. Go to complete a job started two weeks ago, deal with a couple of unforeseen obstacles (which meant working through lunch). Finish job; customer (a friend) is happy with results and hands me $100 cash which I didn't realize until later. 42 hours of work for $100? Really? Decide to talk to him tomorrow and go take my Mom to the store so she can get some groceries. On the way home I can see the freeway exit I need and I have to use the restroom the way someone who's had the flu has to use a restroom... then... *BLAM!* The right front tire blows out... So I pull over in the middle of a busy freeway exit that's dark and, needless to say, nowhere near a restroom. Knowing it was going to be a long, annoying ordeal to try and change the tire in my condition I decided to slowly run on the flat tire (completely ruining it) to get to a nearby mall parking lot (with a Red Robin within running distance). Two and a half hours later I finally get home (due to problems with the jack, getting the lug nuts off, not enough air in the spare, etc., etc.). Met my roommate (who owns the house) on the way in and gave him all the money I had from today and work last week to pay some back rent. Then I find he's got some news for me. His daughter-in-law and grandchildren will be moving here from Mississippi. Which means, I've got until June 1st to find another place to live! Just got the PC back up a few minutes ago... So, no job, no money, everything's breaking down, not healthy yet and soon to be moving! Yay, a wonderful day. [/rant] I'm hoping that today was the bottom so everything's up from here! This is getting ridiculous!
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!

Man that is definitely one bad day. I wish I could offer some positive advice besides hang in there but I've got nothing to offer besides what we've PM'd about (which still stands BTW).

Sorry Craig, I'm not having a good go of it here in Portland either. It's too bad you have to move out with the people from Mississippi, because southerners are by far better people to live with than dopey hipsters and/or satan's minions (soccer mom's and masonic devils). :D Wish you lotsa love....(edited: although I'm old enough to know that the grass isn't always greener somewhere else. Soccer mom's are legion)

What a p*sser Craig, hope you get that sorted out pronto. Who knows, you might even end up in a better place than you are now. I've been down that road.

If you lived in Canuckerstan I'd say let's go splitsies on a place. We could grow beards, be weird, share gear and generally ignore each other until we mutually decided not to... then jam. Good luck though. House stress is one of the worse stresses.

Hi, Heck .. my job ends on march 11th, after 12 1/4 years. I just gotta survive until November so i can start getting some SS ... and hope that is enough ... or something like it ... right now, health is skittish and I need to cut hours down anyway.
Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!
