I haven't watched the academy awards in over 50 years

Just have never been all that interested. I know Billy Crystal did some funny stuff a while back.

These prima donnas get WAY overpaid AND they need to give themselves awards?

I saw a photo still of that old makeup lady walking up to the stage to accept her award, dressed a little "non academy awardy" shall we say, and the looks of mockery and disrespect on the narcissistic Hollywood luvvie-darlings in the audience just said it all for me. I think they're mostly just ****s with no sense of humility and offensively pompous and I hate them. Not a big fan of the movies and never have been.

The Academy Awards is not all just prima donnas. Comedian Louis C. K. gave a great award presentation for Best Documentay Short. A very funny tribute. Link below has his presentation:

So far I've seen two rebuttals to my prima donnas comment, but neither were about the actual recipients of the awards (just a couple of comedians who were allowed to present awards to others), so I'm stickin' with my assessment!

I don't think I have either. I turned on the Red Carpet show for about five minutes... long enough to hear them mention two things I consider to be abominations.
Back in the late 50s and early 60s it was a BIG deal at our house.
I could care less about rich people who think that because they can pretend to be other people. People who actually did something, gives them some sort of wisdom... is well, just stupid IMO.

I think they are all thespians!

From what I hear - A bunch of political things, as per the current "Oscars" trend. What a buzzkill!

What really makes me angry is some slick haired Hollywood tosspot who flits about in private jets and luxury yachts lecturing us peons about global warming. I mean really.

These are asshats who don't live in the real world but feel that, since they once played a part where they pretended to be one of "us little people," that they know exactly what's best for us.

And it's probably worth pointing out that a frighteningly large % of these cockwombles are Scientologists, so that should tell you something about the general mindset.

    Hi,

I just thought it was interesting that the movies that won, almost all of them, were not the big name studio pictures.

I don't have the patience for watching these things anymore.

Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!
