Pugtones - our first commercial endeavor.

Hi everyone - it has been a very, very long time since we have been around - I hope you all are doing well.

We, the Pugtones got asked to write and record a piece of music for a video that is being used as a promotion for a restaurant chain - Rehab Burger Therapy - based in Phoenix. Although we had never attempted anything close to a raggae tune - that's what they wanted - raggae.

Obviously, this is not the norm for us - but we had a great time doing it.

Mark Cline - guitars and production
Warren Willingham - bass guitar
Bill Davies - keyboard, synthesizer
Scott Campbell - fiddle

We are also working on a few new Pugtone tunes - should have some more in the near future.

Take care all.

That's excellent, sounds really nice! Fits with the vid a treat too, gives it all a real 'feel-good' vibe. Cool country/reggae groove. Liking the Knopfler-esque lead fills later on. Nice work fellers!

    excellent end result, mark!
i knew you guys didn't need me to get that done,
i assume the owners are over the moon with it..

it's a great mellow groove, but upbeat...
    by the way, it's 'reggae'

Hey mon...    Nicely done!    Like raggae with just a bit of country and rock mixed in.   Sounds good here.

jamesg1213 - I found it difficult to fit the song to the music - it turned out to not be as easy as it looks. Thanks for taking the time to take a listen - appreciate the comment.

gonzo - thanks - I wasn't sure we could finish this without you - but we did. I think the owners of the resturant are happy with it. Thanks again.

mccourter - I think they are - I hope they are - thanks for taking a listen,

SteveC - I tried to go straight reggae - but couldn 't help adding a few of my normal licks. Thanks for taking a listen.

I'm not so conversant in reggae, so I say you nailed it! The song conveys a happy feeling, it is good mixed and (of course) I think the violin fills was a nice touch to the song.

Thanks again to all of you that took the time - we sure appreciate.

Freddy - unfotunately - we didn't get paid. But, if you're looking to put me in the professional category - then, I think the last time I played a live show - in 2003 I got paid ten bucks - so, technically I'm a pro.

How cool is that.... (Yeah, I need plenty of Rehab)  Very nice work there guys. The song was incredible and I can see how hard it can be to take something as well composed as this was and try to match it to the idea of "Rehab Burger Therapy" ... Yet It works!
