Pancake has long been a favorite. One of those tools you don't use often but you're glad it's in your toolkit. This is Pancake on steroids. Looks like a lot of fun, and sensibly priced at $39. Don't be put off by the bland audio demos; this can be used in any genre of music and doesn't have to be in your face to be effective. For example, I like to use Pancake on a vocal reverb return with gentle settings for some subtle width that won't be distracting.

scook Yes, priced right in between MMultiBandAutopans retail and sale price.
I specifically avoided mentioning that. I plug Melda so much I'm afraid of sounding like a fan boy.

Given ur obvious fanboyism... (joke), how would you compare the two? I've always shy'd away from melda as the gui just doesn't speak to my for whatever reason (the most likely being the limited cells left in my brain). This PanShaper seems elegant and pretty intuitive with a great gui... Still, it's gonna be awhile... so why would I be better off with "M"? or more precisely, what are the differences, if you have insights on both. Thanks in advance, bit...

I just saw this today and it just mmade so much sense to me I wondered if I wasn't missing something. I don't really want to buy another panner. I use Audio Damage Panstation and have always liked it but this Cable Guys seems very intuitive.

Sorry, Dana, I missed your post. It's a tradeoff. MMultibandAutopan has more modulation capabilities, but PanCake has the cleanest, easiest UI. I give a little more weight to the latter, because an autopanner isn't the kind of plugin you're likely to spend a lot of time with to explore fully. More likely, you bring it in once every six months and have to figure it out all over again.

OK... remixing a song done in 2012... grabbed it! Absolutely Brilliant!

FWIW, MMultiBandAutopan is part of Eternal Madness this week for €20. I just paid US$24. PanShaper will go on sale at some point. I can wait.

I still use the unfortunately named Sonitus Surround more than MMultiBandAutopan or the original PanCake.

Well, bit, MMultiBandAutopan IS very cool. Not the type of effect I've really played with before, but what a pleasant experience I just had sticking it on the master buss of a percussion-only piece. Definitely worth $24! Getting MMBA set up and functionally useful wasn't so bad at all. And once you get MP's modulation scheme, the skill is applicable across a LOT of their plugs.

Meldaproduction takes a lot of heat for its initially-confusing, nonstandard UIs. But there is consistency within the product range, so once you "get" the Melda design philosophy they all start to make perfect sense. I am as comfortable with my Melda plugins as I am with the famously user-friendly FabFilter stuff. In some cases, more so.
