(SOLVED)Not getting any input or output from Sonar
specs: ASUS H170M System board Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6500 CPU @3.20GHz 16GB Ram SIIG NN-E20012-S2 Firewire card TI chipset. I was using this card in my HP so I know it works and Assume it's compatible with this new system. Here's what's going on and I want to note that this issue is not just with Sonar, Same with Studio One 3. I also unistalled Sonar and re-installed it. See my interface in Sig. If I plug in my guitar to the Focusrite (doesn't matter which input)I get an input signal on the interface and in Mixcontrol and can hear what I'm playing through my monitors. When I open a blank project and insert a new track, arm it to record there is no signal, meter activity or sound in Sonar. Even if I use Sonar's input monitor instead of mixcontrols. Also There is a 4 or more second lag from when I click to arm the track. If I open a new project, add a track and import a guitar track for example (wave file) when I press the space bar or click the play on the transport there is a 4 second delay then platback begins but there is no sound or meter activity. Sonar will also white out and I have to close it. When that happens I have to reboot because Sonar won't load again. I hope you guys can help me figure this out. I'm in a boat without a paddle. Thanks

Kind of sounds like Maybe SONAR is in WDM driver mode, and defaulting to using your onboard soundcard inputs. Make sure your Driver mode is ASIO in Preferences > Audio > Playback and Recording, and the Focusrite I/O ports are displayed and checked in Devices. Then go to Driver Settings, and make sure the Playback and Record timing Masters are set to Focusrite ports. Then, before arming a track, deliberately choose the Input that your guitar is on. Just arming the track or enabling input echo will default the input to the first stereo pair, and not just the one side of the pair you're plugged into.

Thanks brundlefly, I should have mentioned that the driver mode is ASIO as well as all the in's and out's of the Focusrite devices are there and checked as is the playback/recording in and out. This is what's bugging me. All the settings are right everywhere is Sonar. There are no on board audio devices showing in sonar. One other thing that is not is not right is the fact that there is a 4 or more second delay when clicking on anything or pressing the space bar and Sonar will most likely white out if clicking on too many times.

Just another note: I put in my Nvidia graphics card just to see if the delay was the new on board video but it didn't change anything.

"When I open a blank project and insert a new track, arm it to record there is no signal, meter activity or sound in Sonar." Maybe you missed a step? Did you set the track's input to the input you're plugged into?

Turns out my SIIG firewire card is not compatible with this ASUS motherboard or the board doesn't like the SIIG.
