DisplayLink causes startup to hang

FYI, I've been pulling my hair out the past several days trying to figure out why Sonar Pro on Win10 (64bit)  wouldn't start. Turns out the most recent DisplayLink update was the culprit.

I ran into the same problem.  Were you able to resolve the problem by reverting to a previous version of DisplayLink drivers?

I have the same issue, I had to connect the main monitor directly to the laptop instead of through the displaylink adapter in order for Sonar to start.  It would be nice to be able to use the displaylink adapter. Has there been any movement on this?

I submitted the issue through their Problem Reporter system on 4/3:
The issue ID is CWBRN-48803.  Status is still "New", so it probably has not been reviewed.

Unless you use audio over DisplayLink, there is a fix.  With the DisplayLink adapters connected, disable the audio drivers for them.

Control Panel -> Device Manager -> Sound, video and game controllers -> Right-click on the associated display adapter device and select "Disable"
