I have not done any "tweaking" of my Win 10 or Sonar. Sonar, at least mine, runs without any problems. Resplendence Latency Mon does not show any problems.

Hi gustabo
Thanks for the suggestion , I turned off core parking in registry earlier today and in task manager my cpu speed went immediately .
I am removing and disabling everything and anything possible so that my m18x is fully dedicated to platinum . I am after a link or suggestions - where someone can tell me which Windows services I can turn off . I WANT TO TURN OFF EVERYTHING and anythingI DONT NEED .
I do also want to say that I have a note book and have documented every step I have done so far so if I ever need to roll and service or setting back its there for me , so I am keen to keep going if there's any more disable , and have Windows running just for my daw . Thanks again

Well tweaks help... win 10 has some stuff/services running you most likely want to turn off....but ,...MS may turn them back on... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1kGMCfb2xw Any service running in background doing things will cause issues with cpu requests...and or want to or waiting to use devices you turn off...like nix or wi fi....and not sure what happens if these things are waiting, or running in there logging and keylogging your key strokes and data being made...or saved...and apps running they put in, you may not want or use at all...xbox, skype?... So, this sort of working bug ware they put into the os, that is sending or connected to the spy ware...will when connecting to internet, may then be used by ?...MS, to take pictures, and or send data of those things collected...could cause issues with performance of your DAW and Sound cards performance, when logging or trying to send...making log errors because it cannot send..most very possibly taxing the cpu!...and if it needs to write that data, while you are working...could cause other issues with drive performance and data transmission...hickups! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUsLLEkswzE Hope that helps some...? Cheers!

Yes Black viper is a good source of tweaks...But, you have to know some of those services you need to keep for your DAW and OS...and other things being used....So research the services, and make sure that defeating them will not cause other issues with the use of, or work /devices you need to use. Also if defeating services ...Remember to undo anything done...before updating win OS.. and or other things. So keep a tweak list for your machines...so you can revert to defaults....Just so things do not get corrupted when updating.... Cheers!

W10 worked fine for me out of the box, much better than W7 where i had a terrible latency issue. I have done only 2 tweaks - Core parking and power managment, yes, do it.
The rest you can forget as its not really necessary. Background services, btw, is now a myth. Cakewalk have said as much in these forums.
All of course IMHO.

And I have said other wise in these forums...and shown, and have proof they can cause problems with cpu interuption and in some cases spiking of it...and noise on audio, because of buffer interupts caused by busy cpu tasks....bla bla... So, you do what you think is best...enough posted outside the CW world on what is happening with win 10..and such things.... If you feel safe with all that crap running and doing the data collection of your doings...when doing it...surely it takes resources to do so...and writing logs or whatever it does...if it cannot send..or if it is trying to...will page the nic...or wi fi...to send. Again causing issues if...it does. laptops are kind of more likely to show cpu loads...and buffer issues.....I was told. But do the research that is best for you. every system is different...every system is unique. one saying it does not matter...and another saying it does...If you are looking to turn it all off...as you said, then you decide. Cheers.

I think I have done so. How can I check? I have six cores? Are there the latest instructions on Windows 10? Most that I found were for Windows 7. THANKS. gustabo Turn off core parking.
