cakewalk X1 producer file import issue

Hi, I'm using producer x1. When I import a track file into a project instead of nestling at the beginning of the track it loads on the selected track but some 10 minutes recording time further along. This of course means either copy/paste or undertake a long and tedious drag .to bring the file into the project in its proper place. Any suggestions as to how to solve this would be extremely welcomed

I sometimes have the same thing in platinum
The file drags in and I don't see it
There are small dots on the track
If I scroll way over to the right , there it is...pain in the butt!

Broadcast wave files have timing information embedded into them. There is a preference in SONAR to "import waves at time stamp," which should be unchecked for your case. Not at the computer ATM, but that is most likely what you are seeing.

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.
