Simultaneous Dual-Sample-Rate Recording/Projects

OK... This is a crazy one...

I have always been unhappy with the reality of dithering... So in trying to stay with an un-dithered product from start to finish, I had this thought...

Very possibly this could require a major upgrade of audio interface, but this is the idea.

As the only mass produced  hard media audio CD audio (16/44.1) is still with us...
The DVD-audio and such is a very small market...(24/48-96)
Movie sound is very big... (24/48-96)

So with hope of high grade audio, we like to record at the higher rates, but are then forced to dither to lower...

What if we could enable dual-rate recording/editing...?

Storage media is getting cheaper all the time...

Maybe it could display only a single image yet behind the scenes editing two separate files.
One low rate and one high rate...

Then a selection system of which set of recordings to be used for a mix...

Yeah... I know... Crazy, but............?
