I had not looked as I have the CC subscription! For the Violin and Cello Bundle Introductory Price: $399.00 ? (Price incl. VAT: ) List price: $530.00 Looking at the price to buy outright I think they are trying to force people onto the Compose Cloud!

Their prices have always been ridiculous initially. I paid thousands for Hollywood series which you can now get for what, $699 on sale? They are certainly wanting to get more and more people on the subscription plans. They did away with Complete Composers Collections and I think we'll also see less sales on individual items as well. The problem I have with Composer Cloud is the lack of pro-rating. I already own the majority of EW plugins so why would I be expected to pay the same price as everyone else for products I already have licenses for? Makes no sense. Apart from that, the solo violin is underwhelming in my opinion. Nowhere near worth $200 per and I was already burned once with their first solo violin. Fool me once...

I just finished downloading the entire shooting match for Composer Cloud, and I actually like the solo violin sound from their Gypsy collection a bit better. I have several projects that warranted my joining the monthly access deal with them, and for the 2 months or so that I will initially use sounds, a total investment of $60 is nominal. I will decide what to do with it all after that. I DO think some of the sample sounds cut off after just a few seconds, using their Play software, and I am still looking into that, but that will be after a well-deserved and lengthy nap..... Their legato on the violin is terrible. It just cuts everything off. :\

Meanwhile, as Bob is enjoying his well earned sleep, I would like to reiterate that EastWest was going to give the new Solo Violin as a substitute for those owning the old one. However, no way, José.

Kinda like how they were going to give Hollywood Harp to anyone who owned a single section of Hollywood Orchestra and went back on that as well.

And there's that Chris Hein Solo Violin coming up. As for soul, EastWest has a great one in Gypsy.

Larry - I wholeheartedly agree with you on the Gypsy violin - FABULOUS. It takes a bit of work on the articulations, but once you get the hang of those, it can REALLY sound good. Bob Bone
