Question about my sonar platinum membership

This fall I dealt with a catastrophic plumbing problem resulting in a flood at my home.  During that time I paid the $119 or so for to be able to upgrade from sonar X3 producer to platinum and NOT be paying annually.  That I would still own it regardless of membership status.  I am finally back in my home and finally tried to download this upgrade so I can install it and it tells me this is a membership product, good through Oct 15th, 2016.  What is up with that?  The reason I pulled the trigger  was that it was the last opportunity to buy the new version and "own" it with no membership required.  Any insight is appreciated guys.  Thanks.

LP, Epi. Lp, Dillion Tele, Ibanez beater, Ibanez Ergodyne 4 String bass, Mapex Mars series 6 pc. studio kit, cymbals and other sh*t.

    An active member is entitled to updates and support see the FAQ
    Since the upgrade was purchased with a one-time payment, the license to use SONAR will not expire but the membership will. This is as true today as it was when new SONAR was introduced.
