why can't my task bar disappear?
hi everyone, as the subject states, when i open sonar platinum the taskbar stays open, yes, i have it set to disappear. i was on the phone with HP yesterday for 3, yes, three hours only to have a "tech" manage to lose most of my stuff. after this another tech told me, because i've installed 3ed party software my warranty is voided. i'm about to lose my mind. has anyone ever seen this before? this problem started a few days ago. HELP!!

Hi, trying to clarify your issue . . . are you saying that you have Windows set to "auto hide task bar", and when you open Sonar, the taskbar stops auto hide behaviour ? Can you still use "Window - Full screen" from the top menu in Sonar, or does that not work either ?

What 3rd party software is HP referring to? Sonar? That's ridiculous... Anyway, I wonder if your audio interface has an icon in the notification area of the taskbar that is blocking that taskbar from auto-hiding? Regards, Dan

thank you both for answering me, first, i don't know if i can do "full screen" i'll try it. next response, oh man, did i flip out when some nit wit at HP told me their not responsible after i install 3rd party software, that's the dumbest thing i ever heard, and this was after 3 hours with some "tech" (i can't understand half of what she said) all she did was manage to loose most of my stuff. what morons. anyhow, i looked on the interweb and found, what i think is a solution, i'll have to keep at it. the fall back answer i get from the techs is always a clean install of the OS and you know what a nightmare that is. i'm amazed how useless these people are. thanks again for your help.

I had that happen to me. In my case there were temp files waiting to be burned to disc. I had forgotten to burn the disc. Deleting the temp files restored the taskbar back to normal.

I've noticed this when 'notification' is set in windows for any update. I notice you have win 10 home. I've had their software change things when updating. Especially with ' home' version. Along the lines of what fantini said. Good luck moving on.

again, i wanted to thank all of you with your suggestions. it's weird, this is a new problem, what i'm trying to do is go through my computer and see if i can find any freaky programs/apps that i downloaded. i did find one solution that i want to pass on should someone else run into this. open task manager then processes then scroll down to windows explorer then hit end task. that works to get rid of the task bar, until of course, it pops up again. if you ask me it's annoying as hell. i think windows 10 bites.
