Big Big Train
I have just received Big Big Train's new "Stone and Steel" live Blue Ray disk, I have not had an chance to play the whole thing yet, but what I have seen is very promising. I think I need to get Blue Ray palyer for the studio. They have been posted before but there are teasers here and here. They have also announced a new album to be released on 27th May - Teaser here

I don't have a Blu-Ray player so I'm waiting for the download vid (available in July apparently). Snippets of the new album sound very good indeed.

I have fallen in love with this band. Just so great. Anything Nick D'Virgilio plays on is gold, isn't it? Too bad the DVD isn't available for the US till July? Checking out the new album as we speak.

If you a fan of Nick you will love the extras "Master James Drum Cam" and "Wassail Drum Session". "Master James" shows Nick on three cams simultaneously and the drums are right up in the mix. Its educational.

It's great to find others who think so highly of Big Big Train, and am really looking forward to Folklore. I can't seem to find people in my area (So. California) who've heard of the band, let alone have recording ability and can try their own hand at composing/recording.

Where in So. Cal? That's where I'm from and I used to have lots of friends that did recording (San Diego, where I grew up, Orange County, where I moved to, and the Hollywood area, where a lot of my friends were in bands).

Wow, you should be able to find some people into recording there! I doubt that we all moved... LOL.

Santa Barbara from 1971 to August 1982. Graduated from UCSB before it became known as a party school ... like you can get into a UC system without grades and just to party! Good luck!

It appears you may have! But with 'net collaboration, location doesn't matter as much. Steve

What better example, primaraly a studio band several members of Big Big Train had never met until they got together for the concerts featured on Stone and Steel.
