Routing midi to synth fx or ?

Hi everyone ,

I am trying to figure out how to route the midi of a synth e.g z3ta to a lfo tool in the fx rack of the primary synth track ?

With no luck I have changed the lfo fx to a synth ( in cakewalk properties ) and have inserted it into its own midi track , but Ian confused on getting the midi data from z3ta to the lfo and back to the z3ta primary output !
Any clear instructions on this is appreciated ,

If there is more than one method please explain alternatives

Thanks

See the tip for Week 21 in Friday's Tip of the Week. It describes how to draw periodic waveforms that can automate synth parameters...if I understand correctly what you want to do, this is a pretty simple option.

    Hi Anderton ,

Very nice tip and great info , but Ian trying to do something different that I know can be done but I can't get it to work ,

    - I have a lfo vst fx > I want to send the midi data from z3ta to it > so I have changed the lfo fx to a synth in ( synth properties ) > ok now I have inserted it as a synth into its own track in platinum and selected midi output in track options just before it landed > ok now I need the midi from z3ta to pass go through this lfo track and back to the z3ta output ,

What has happened > I have routed midi out on z3ta to lfo track ( all good so far - now the lfo tool appears in z3ta midi tack paint pallete button - left top - and I can see the midi going through the lfo ) but how do I get it back to z3ta primary output now , I'm confused

    Ok sorted ,

My problem was when I right clicked in the primary z3ta output >insert soft synth > my plug in layout was set to effects , so now I have it set to instruments and have loaded it in .

So I configured as a synth in synth properties ,then in primary output of z3ta I inserted it as a soft synth which allows me to select midi Out

Hopefully this article will answer your question. Here's a similar article that relates to X1 but it's still relevant.
