EQ Rangers Plus

Upgrade from EQ Rangers Vol. 1
https://www.plugin-allian...pl_eq_ranger_plus.html
Yet I don't get this upgrade with 180 so-called modules. Aren't these just presets?

I think they're using the words modules and presets interchangeably.

Originally, there were three modules (Vox, Full and Bass), each with many presets. Now there are 150+ modules (with no presets) or 150+ presets.

That's how I read it. But yeah, there is one module instead of three with a lot more (180) presets.

I think I'm going to upgrade. I like using the Full and the Vox :)

I was looking through my old emails and saw it was 9 dollars on Black Friday. I think I thought I already had it or I definitely would have grabbed it. Probably better off!

I think the terminology is an attempt to link the software version to its hardware predecessor. Passive filters have hard limitations dictated by their component values, so you have no choice but to substitute different components if you want to extend their capabilities. That's why they had three separate hardware modules.

Of course, no such limitations apply to software emulations, but part of the sales pitch is that the plugin emulates a piece of hardware. You could, I think, think of the term "module" as a coarse preset and "preset" as a set of fine adjustments within it. Just my interpretation.

At the end of the day, it's a simplified parametric equalizer that hides every parameter except gain, making a large number of presets necessary.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
