Midi Velocity Editing in Piano Roll Editor Question.

I would recommend you check out the Midi Velocity plugin.
 
With your clip/notes selected in Track view, go Process Effect > Midi Effects > Cakewalk FX > Velocity
 
This will open the plugin. At the far right are the 2 Randomize fields. Click in the square to activate Randomization and set the limits to impose on the amount of randomization applied, when you're done, click Ok.
 
Note that if you only want to affect, say the hihats, select them in the prv AFTER selecting the clip in Track View
 
If you don't like the results, just hit ctrl + z to undo it

I'm jumping this thread because I'm obviously a step behind. This thread refers to how easy it is to adjust the velocity for one instrument globally on Sonar Platinum.... um.... help?
I recently had a kick drum that was all over the place from my own manual playing/programming. Maybe I was drunk when I wrote it. No clue.
But, I thought, "Ok, I'll just find out how to set ALL of the kick drums (say C3) on the piano roll to 100 velocity and go from there".
No matter how hard I searched, I could not figure out how to change the MIDI velocity setting globally for any one "note". I sat there manually editing each quarter note kick drum until my eyes bled. There has GOT to be a better way, and maybe I won't feel like quite an idiot if I could get a lil help here?
 
Thanks, everyone. I've been on a hiatus and I'm getting back into creativity. I sure would like to be able to spend more time writing and playing and less time going, "Right click..... velocity change..... ok", and repeat..... and repeat.... and so on.

Here is the part about how to make a group of notes the same velocity. 
 
This diagram is a midi note.
A= Velocity drag up or down to adjust. 
B= Adjust note start 
C= Select the note
B= Adjust note end

I like to have my Bass parts play at the same velocity. There's a few tricks and ways to do this but this is one I find is super easy and quick... all done with the mouse and the smart tool.
 
Select All to highlight.
Then using the smart tool I drag the velocity up so all notes are full. 
 Then let go. Now grab and pull down to 110 or what ever.
 
You can also just select all of one note, as in say a drum part buy clicking the corresponding piano key for that note. That will highlight just that note from the start to end of track. 
 
A quick way to select all is drag the mouse down the piano keyboard with the left click held.

Ok, without being by my computer there is another way I found quite simple I didn’t see listed. Forgive me if I looked over it.

1. Click the midi track

2. View piano roll

There’s a drop down on the top left of piano roll, “view only selected note” click on the keys going down the left side to find your kick. You’ll be left with only those midi “kick” notes in the piano view.

Towards the bottom on the piano roll view there is a way to “click and DRAG UP” another window resides there, (sometimes it’s already there just really small) you will have velocity lines under each note. That window can be as big as you want.

There’s a lasso looking button on the side (if my memory strikes me right)

Hit your “select arrow”
Highlight all the notes visible which should be your kick only.

It will wrap all those velocities.

Then just drag all the way up to your desired Velocity. It will max them ALL if you go too far, or if you have “light and soft hits” it will keep them the same velocity until you reach the max (120 I believe), it will pull the rest up to max too.. all else fails - edit undo.

Not the best explanation being away from my computer. But this process has allowed me to level and/or max all drum pieces hits in under a minute.
