What Happened To Sequential Letters-Named Updates?

Just wondering. I was sure this one was going to be Orleans followed by Provincetown. Now it's back to numbers.

We'll not risk another frontal assault-that rabbit's dynamite!!!

I liked the naming too, but I guess maybe mom and dad got home and told the kids to knock it off. :)

Makes it easier to associate an update with a month. I presume it will make things easier for support, too. I though the town names were kinda cool too, but sometimes function over form > form over function

I totally miss the names.

Here's an idea... names for those who want them, and numbers for those who don't. (Just kidding, or not...)

A deep chesty bawl echoes from rimrock to rimrock, rolls down the mountain, and fades into the far blackness of the night. It is an outburst of wild defiant sorrow, and of contempt for all the adversities of the world. - Aldo Leopold

Maybe they could have had both - the March one could have been called "Orleans - 2016.03.71" for example.  Have the best of both worlds....  I miss trying the guess the next town name...

For managing bug tracking, features and support, version numbering makes a lot more sense. It's just that I mourn a little when another few grams of humanity are squeegied out of the software industry.

I too kind of felt the updates had a bit more 'personality' when they had names. Numbers might be clearer for technical reasons, but they all start to look the same and fade into noise for me pretty quickly. Oh well. It doesn't actually impact my workflow all that much in the grand scheme of things...

I also liked the names, but it is easier to reference an update using the numbers format.  But, hey, write your own names on the cover sheet i.e.  Oil Can
                                             P.T.
                                             Que
                                             Rat Pack

well, maybe not.

Wait until you get to be my age. Guessing the next month's not so easy. Heck, I have trouble remembering what day it is.

Plus, I'm not sure that I want to get to know Massachusetts that well. I spent enough time there when I was working for a living. Great place to visit. I always had a blast. Well, except for Logan.

Gotta love the Roman numerals, and the hex is a nice touch. I don't recognize the ZOIG thing though, what is that?
