When's The Warm Front Coming In

Just finished this song of mine. Haven't posted one here in awhile and would love some feedback on the mix. Thanks a lot.

Very cool song/production. Love the guitar loop that goes through the verses.

daryl1968, thanks a lot. I got that guitar loop from producerloops.com and built the song around it. When I first heard it I loved it. I used some more of the loops from that package as well. I played most of the keyboard parts and did a lot of cut 'n' paste to the loops. The loops were so good (I thought) I didn't add any EQ or anything to the mix. Used Izotope Nectar for the vocals, which I sang. Mastered with Izotope Ozone.

That was pretty cool...  I think Daryl may have nailed it with the "David Byrne and Deadmau5" comment.

The tape stops preceding the choruses were a nice touch as was the rise coming out.

Very creative -- really liked that opening riff and the vocals are good.  My only crit is that the mix sounds a little too high eq -- for my tastes -- I'd like to hear a little more warmth.
    Good job !!

Thanks, ABull for listening and for your comments. I thought at different points I didn't have enough highs for the song. Still think that about the vocal. Different strokes, I guess.

Chas, you have written some of the most clever lyrics and hooks that I've heard on this site over the years.  It seems like your production skills have reached a new level of sophistication.  This song is such a delicious blend of styles that it seems like comfort food to me.  A song this good should have a wide spread audience.  I can't wait for your next production.

    All the best,
    Lynn

Lynn, thanks a lot for those kind words. Your praise is so flattering that I must say I had help on the song so all the credit doesn't go to me. Read my reply to Daryl1968.
