Probably so. I recently inquired at everyplugin about a quote for re-wuping and was told there's going to be a new WUP promo coming later this week so to wait until then.

In a year and a half, not a single one of my many Waves plugins was updated. So...I saw no reason to give them any more of my money. Of course, they then recently did a dump of updates. Real bastidges, those guys. I like and use some of their plugs regularly, but wouldn't mind moving completely off of Waves at some point.

I'm still using the old Waves License Center. I'm worried that old projects will get the dreaded missing plugin message if I update to Waves Central. Are my fears unfounded? Rocky

FWIW (since it seems none of us have the same experience with CP schemes) Waves Central was probably the easiest upgrade I've had. Everything kept working, and I could easily move licenses around, and keep track. All in all a painless experience.
Now I am (as always) skeptical about all the recent security updates - Waves Central, iLok, even eLicenser, and now it appears Plug-in Alliance. On the one hand I'm pleased they are paying attention, on the other hand I do tire of worrying about security on the studio computer. (I'm betting the recent CCC update had something to do with security too, but I'm too polite to ask!)
So we'll see, if I run into any problems (tonight is the big update everything night) I will report back here, otherwise I'll be too busy making music to post! I hope!

I updated and now I have no desktop icon to launch it. The update deleted the old one but didn't leave me with a new one.

It will still be on your Start Menu Sky...you can create a new shortcut for your desktop by clicking on the Desktop and New and then Create Shortcut
and then navigating to where the program is installed if that's how you like to have it...or you can just pin it to the Taskbar... I don't want any shortcuts on my Desktop...each one takes 766 Kilobytes of memory to "Load" on the desktop, which, IMO, is a waste of RAM...so I keep my Desktop clear and use the Start Menu...YMMV

Does everyplugin sell WUP? I know wavesuniverse does. I'm not sure I could afford it anyway.

Thanks cclarry for the information. I unfortunately didn't get to it in time. I plan to give the new download a go. I dread IK more. Every time I think I've cleared things up with them I get the dreaded message that I need to register. I must have registered 5 times and I STILL get the messages. Waves has been good about not loading ghost programs I didn't buy into my vst folder. You know, the ones that blast noise at you if you load one :)

You can just go to the Waves site and download directly and update... http://www.waves.com/downloads/central
