High-Rise film

Has anyone seen this film based on the book by J.G.Ballard?

The film and music are amazing, I've seen it 3 times now and I've never done that with any film before.

Fantastic score from Clint Mansell, it ranges from classical with a hint of Aaron Copelandesque scores to analogue synthesizer tracks.

Hi,

I think I will stick with my week of Luis Bunuel ... got Viridiana and his Stevenson novel to see!

Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

It's one I want to see definitely. Don't think it'll come to our little town so I'll have to wait for the DVD.

I have a list ... that goes like this, before I add any new things:
Luis Bunuel - Viridiana
Krzystof Kieslowski - No End
Jean Luc Godard - Hail Mary
Peter Brook - Meetings With Remarkable Men
Peter Greenaway - 8 1/2 Women
Pedro Olea - Stormy Weather
Derek Jarman - The Tempest (his version)
Jean Luc Godard - Every Man For Himself
Incredible String Band - Be Glad For The Song Has No Ending (Finally found it!)
Luis Bunuel - El (This Secret Passion)
Ken Russell - Valentino (with Nureyev)
Luis Bunuel - Robinson Crusoe (better than Hank's any day of the week, btw!)

I'm keeping the public top ten stuff down to minimum ... because there are more interesting things out there, I kinda think. Basically updating the reviews I have on some directors, so their work is more completely listed and visible. Other than that, just enjoying watching "The Game of Thrones", although I hope to be able to see the Season 6 without having to wait a whole year for the DVD's.

I'm adding nothing to this...

Oh, I can't help myself...

What the hell have posts #2 and #4 got to do with the OP anyway? It's basic rudeness to simply ignore the premise of a thread by using it as an excuse to push one's own petty and increasingly monotonous agenda.

(Sorry John for doing the same, but someone had to say it)

Sounds similar to the reply of someone who hasn't seen the FSF too!

Back on topic, the movie looks nicely twisted, looking forward to it. Tom Hiddleston's good, watched him in Le Carre's 'The Night Manager' recently, excellent stuff.

I've not heard of that adaptation of The Tempest...looks worth a viewing.

I'm going to see The Tempest at the RSC in December, looks like it is going to have several computer generated elements...
