Dimension Pro 64
I have an existing 32 bit install of DimPro and was hoping to install the 64 bit version...but the installer (D-ProInstall_1.5.5.16.exe) doesn't want to give me the option of a 64 bit install. In fact, it doesn't offer any options at all. How is that supposed to work?

Wookiee Is your OS 64 bit?
Yes...but the existing DimPro install is 32 bit. I'm attempting to migrate from 32 to 64 bit...and I have a boatload of older projects that have dependencies on plugs that are only installed as 32 bit.

AFAIK, the installer contains both 32 and 64bit. I did nothing special when installing DPro using the Command Center. It installed the 64bit version by default on both my old 64bit Win7 and new 64bit W10 machines. I have not bothered with manual installation since the Command Center was introduced.

Dan, Go to the "My Products" and see if you have the download for the 64 bit ver. there. That might help (I think).

There aren't separate 32 and 64 bit installers listed in CCC or under My Products on the Cakewalk website, as far as I can see.

Interesting. Are you installing using the CCC? It might be recognizing only what you already have installed.

I've been specifically avoiding the CCC because it used to make assumptions about the version you wanted to install. Has that changed?

Changed WRT to when? There have been several updates to the Command Center since its introduction. One of them was the addition of a verbose install option which essentially runs the installers as if they were run from the command line. There are also settings for VST2 32 bit and 64bit installation paths, a setting for the path to the installer cache and Cakewalk Content. Still the Command Center uses the same installers available in the store account. AFAIK, the DPro installer has always contained both 32bit and 64bit binaries and a prompt at the beginning of the installation process to select which one to install.

scook Changed (W)ith (R)espect (T)o to when?
Shortly after the Control Center's introduction, I used it to install SONAR and found that had defaulted to installing 64 bit...since it saw that I was running a 64 bit OS. After that particular debacle, I chose to not trust it again and would rather use the "naked" installers on the theory that they would give me maximum control. Hmm...is there really anything different in D-ProInstall_1.5.5.16.exe as far as the application is concerned? Is the 5.16 part just indicative of changes to the installer to make it "more intelligent", which is specifically the functionality that's giving me grief? I might go back to the original media and try installing DPro 1.5 from there. It might be "stupid" enough to not second guess me and let me do what I want.
