EZDrummer 2 Issues with Sonar X2

To EZDrummer2 Users,
I am using Sonar X2 Producer.
I've recently installed EZD2 and it will work fine using a shortcut placed on my desktop.  The .exe program is installed:"C:\Program Files\Toontrack\EZdrummer\EZdrummer64.exe"    I can also copy the EZdrummer folder to other locations and it will still work from the desktop location.
My problem is: Sonar X2 isn't recognizing EZD2 at all.  It still reverts back to the older EZD.
Just installed the update of X2, went to Preferences and reset all VST plugins and rescanned.  Even tried to add the directories where I know the shortcut works.  Looked for EZD2.exe in preferences and don't see it. I know it's there. NO LUCK.  My EZX's are all in C:\Program File (x86)\Toontrack\EZDrummer.
Any help would be appreciated.  Do I need to delete the old EZdrummer completely...what happens to the older songs created with EZdrummer?
Thanks,
rockinpop

I just recently upgraded to EZD2. The EZDrummer64.exe file is located just as yours, but Sonar looks at C:Program Files/VstPlugins for the .dll which is there: EZDrummer.dll with the same modification date as the .exe file...So it must have been updated the same time I installed the upgrade.

If you do not have it in a similar file, search your hard drive for "EZDrummer.dll". When you find it, using "view", list the file with details and look at the modification date. Should be the date you installed EZD2. You will then need to add this path in edit; preferences; vst scan paths.

EZD1 and EZD 2 do not coexist. EZD2 replaces EZD1.

+1 I just looked. No EZD1 on my system that I can see.

Also- Please look at the thread I had from earlier this year (Middle of January) titled something like "EZDrummer2 corrupts SONAR Projects". and also in the Software forum from earlier this month "EZDrummer2 64 bit install problem".  Some more important info there. Also some other EZDrummer2 threads out there you may want to take a look at.

I just double-checked and the dates I mention above are not from the date I installed EZD2, but an earlier date, for which I have no clue as to its significance. Maybe when I downloaded the EZD2 zip file...I don't know. Sorry about the misinformation.

Rbecker is correct in that Sonar needs the .dll file to work. Not the .exe That is for the stand alone version of EZD2.
You need to have Sonar scan the folder where your .dll files are located.

John is also correct in that EZD1 and EZD2 don't co-exist. It has to be one or the other. And if you have installed EZD2 as an upgrade from EZD1, then  EZD1 should have been replaced.
