Melodyne update

I keep getting emails from melodyne speaking about an update, or upgrade. I have the full version of Melody editor and I wonder if this is only a sales pitch to buy their full version of melodyne or if there is actually an update for the editor itself.
I'm guessing it's the former but does anybody know? Thank you.

Melodyne was updated to 4.04 in March.

The letter you are getting is probably the offer to
Upgrade to Melodyne Studio for $149...

If you're interested in the upgrade go here and select
"Upgrade from Melodyne Editor"

The price is $123.30

I have 2.x Editor. I can get the new v4 Editor for $99 (or Studio for $149), but I just can't find a compelling reason to do so...

am I missing something compelling?

It all depends on your needs/wants.    I wanted to the ability to modify the tempo map in Melodyne, align note positions between tracks, and for creative purposes "re-synthesize" audio.   So for me Studio 4 seemed like the schnitz.   Having already used the Tempo Mapping and multi-track features, and played enough with the Sound Editor to know I will make use of it to, I know that it was the right decision.

IDK...a couple days left of the sale...I can't seem to convince myself either...Editor2 to Studio4.  I'm not into  re-synthesizing notes...but if the tempo mapping is totally an upgrade..not just little niggles... then yeah.  Multitrack editing seems more a luxury than a need.    All this keeps chipping away at my Omnisphere desire.

Since you can't run the two concurrently, I couldn't test how much better the Tempo mapping is in the new version.  However, they claim it is a big overhaul.

I upgraded for about $127.  The other thought is you are guaranteed support on this version for awhile.  Editor 2, not so much.

I guess for 49 more bucks I might as well upgrade to Studio which includes editor 4.0, right? Anybody have editor 4.0 and see a big difference?
Thanks

Same for me. It's April 28 and haven't pulled the trigger yet. It will be more on May 1st hasn't been a good enough reason yet.

I caved and went from Editor 2 to Studio 4 before the sale ended.
Upgrade price was too good to pass up.

Omnisphere is awesome, but like Valhalla stuff, it never goes on sale, so you can pick them up anytime.

well...with hours to go... I figure... gotta treat yourself sometimes too.  Actually, I've been playing with it the last couple of hours, seeing the new goodies in the program.

Oddly Celemony didn't want to take any of my credit cards, so I pony'd up to Sweetwater.  I think there were some better deals on the web, but I don't mind giving Sweetwater $149 worth of business.  They have been totally great to me over the years.

Now...back to more music!

I didn't plan to upgrade, but on a song I'm working on Studio seemed like it could be useful.  So I went for it.  I'll be working with it today.  I'll be finding out what it can do.

i guess having an $800 price tag for new users eases the$100+ upgrade price. stellar product though.
