Yooo - howdy. I did this new tune - Nocturnal Blues.

Hello everyone - hope life finds you all well and happy.

I wrote and recorded this new tune. I played all the instruments and did the production work on this one. I don't do songs by myself very often - but once in a while it's kind of fun.

The title of this tune is Nocturnal Blues.

I want to thank you all that take the time to take a listen.

God bless you all - take care.

Sounds good Mark! I'd like a tad more bass, just to give the song a little more weight, but your playing is excellent.

Hi Mark - I hope you are well.
Love this - it must take some patience and restraint to play this laid back.
Something about it reminded me of Albatross - Fleetwood Mac - just the feel I think.
    Very cool

Hi Bob - good to see you. It has been a while. Warren and I are working on a couple of new ones right now - hope to be around a bit more. Thanks for taking a listen and the comments.

Dan, thank you so much - maybe I'll do a new mix with a tad more bass. I'm always a ittle hesitant to push my bass track up in the mix - I don't consider myself to be much of a bass guitar player.

Slugbaby - thank you and cheers.

Rikkie - I appreciate - I'm fairly new to playing slide - still a bit of a struggle for me.

Mesh - thank you so much man - love me some blues too.

If I wanted to advertise good guitar tone, this would be a piece that I'd want to use.  If I wanted to show off good taste, I'd use this piece.  Even the name is very right on.  I'll now be going to my guitar and trying to emulate this to the best of my ability.

    All the best,

Good tune, great tones and love the high toms. Has a sprinkling of jazz in there too. Nice job.

Haaa, Sorry Daryl. Albatross is one of my alltime favorite tunes - so - that's pretty cool. I hope you are doing well my friend, you know I love ya.

Lynn, thanks. The main guitar is a Gibson ES335. I just play it through my old POD XTLive - then throw in a bit of compression, delay and reverb.

Thanks Makke - appreciate the thought and you taking the time to take a listen.

gbowling - yea, I threw in those toms at the last minute - thought it broke it up a bit. I appreciate the comment.

Performance-wise that's some tasty stuff!  Captures that nocturnal thing so well...   Loved the reverb/openness of the mix too, suits it perfectly IMO.   Overall it sorta reminds me of Sleep Walk a little.

Hey Mark --- glad to see you back on the forum.   Excellent stuff buddy!!!   I've got to agree with Daryl (above).  This has a real feel of (The Real) Fleetwood Mac's song: Albatross.  That is one of my favourite instrumentals and now I will add this to my list of favourites.  I also have to agree with Lynn (above).  Your playing is "clean" and has some of the best phrasing that I have ever heard.  Every note played has meaning.

I would love to hear more of just Mark

This thing meanders in a very cool way. This song might require more than one beer, however.

Very fine guitar playing to all involved.

You have also left about four seconds of everyone's favorite 60 cycle buzz, right at the end, intentional or not? Or is there a fly in my room?  :)   Maybe, fade it out, if it's intentional.

    cheers,
    -Tom
