New Laptop - Sonar and Kontakt not getting along
Setting up my new laptop I have run into an issue I can't seem to solve: NI Kontakt standalone works as expected. Libraries load and display properly. . . . but . . . NI Kontakt loaded as a VST into Sonar loads garbled libraries ? Some fonts incorrect, and GUI generally loads with incomplete images, image overtop of other images, and menus don't all work. Things I've tried so far: I've rolled back Sonar to a previous version, with no difference. Changed windows font size, display resolution, with no difference. Adjusted video driver settings, with no difference. Re-Installed Kontakt from original CDs, with no difference. These Kontakt libraries all work perfectly on my desktop system. Think I'm running out of ideas to fix this, hoping someone out there has an idea what could be causing this ? (Lenovo ThinkPad P-70, 16 GB RAM, i7 6700HQ Processor, Win 7 Pro SP1, NVIDIA Quadro M600M)

May or may not be related, but I ran into a problem the other day using the Windows Classic theme in Windows 7. While using this theme the new Add Track part of Sonar does not display correctly at all. I haven't investigated much further. Just throwing that out there as a possible idea.

I'm on Win 7 and my custom Windows theme is created from the Classic theme, but I have never had any graphic issue in Kontakt (except when I forgot to update the application after reinstalling it). Add Track also displays correctly on my system, although I hardly use the feature and may be missing something...

Is it possible there is a Sample Rate mismatch? Also, is Sonar set to use a Driver Mode of ASIO? Bob Bone

Thanks for the responses everyone. I’m not using the Windows Classic theme for my display settings, and I’ve tried fiddling with that. Bob . . . as far a sample mismatch, this occurs even if I start a new project, insert Kontakt, and then load an instrument. I tend to use 24 bit, 44.1K settings as my default for most projects. Are you saying that maybe the samples being loaded at a different sample rate could be an issue ? . . . and yes, I’m using ASIO drivers for my USB audio interface (M-Audio M-Track QUAD)
